Do-in is a self-massage technique of Chinese origin that uses the energy meridian points of the human body, known from traditional Chinese medicine practices, such as acupuncture. It is a curative and preventive technique, and is applicable in cases of emergency.
Do-in uses the same points used in acupuncture to treat and prevent disorders and diseases in the body, restoring, according to the concepts of traditional Chinese medicine, the flow of Ki energy, where it has suffered blockages or imbalances.
It is also used as a first-aid technique for certain ailments, in which the patient self applies the massage.
Massage consists, basically, in the use of two types of touch:
Sedation - continuous pressure on a point;
Stimulation - intermittent pressure on a point.
