Nutrition

Food is a very important factor in quality of life.

The saying "we are what we eat" is a truth that we have all witnessed in our daily lives.

For example, when we eat an orange we feel more energetic. Or when you drink a glass of natural orange juice, you feel more purified.

That's why it's very important to choose organic food.

If you can have some organic food planted in your backyard or in a pot, that's of course the ideal solution, because you know exactly what you're eating. If you can't and have to choose to buy some products, always do it so that this choice falls on the organic products, because there is a very significant difference in the nutrients that you will ingest.

Here are some foods that I advise you to use:

- ALMOND DRINK: It is low in calories and sugar and high in calcium, vitamin E and vitamin D.

Alternatives: cocoa or rice drink.

- Bread: whole wheat bread is always the best choice, as well as bread that is kneaded by hand and baked in a wood oven. You can choose to make your own bread or buy it in places where bread is still produced in an artisanal way.

Alternatives: rye bread or corn bread.

- PASTA AND RICE: Buy organic rice and pasta and never forget to wash them thoroughly before cooking. Give preference to pasta and brown rice.

Alternatives: basmati rice or linguini with cuttlefish ink.

- LEGUMES: Whenever possible, make an effort to look for stores that produce or sell organic vegetables. These products are effectively healthier because the way they are grown, through a sustainable basis, minimizes the impact they may have on nature and consequently on our body. A vegetable that has been grown with the nutrients it needs, without the use of chemicals and in a slow manner will certainly have several components essential to life. It will be ideal if you can buy from a small local producer. Give preference to green vegetables, followed by orange/yellow and finally red. It is also important to note that you should give preference to leafy vegetables, followed by vegetables grown outside and finally root vegetables.

Alternatives: seaweed or sprouts.

- FRUIT: Fruit is one of the healthiest foods and should be eaten daily, but it is extremely important that it be pesticide-free fruit. All kinds of fruit should be eaten and should always be chosen according to the season of harvest.
If possible it should be local fruit. Choose as much variety as possible.
Alternative: natural or pureed juices.

- JAM/MELL: local products are the best option, however choose sweets with less sugar and honey as liquid and clear as possible.

Alternative: homemade jams or stevia

- TISAN: there is always the possibility of asking someone to plant and offer it to you, in case you can't have a pot or a garden, with several types of tea/tisan. This way you will know that they are organic. So give preference to freshly picked tea/tisan. Or dry it and put it in glass jars. Also use sustainable and healthy ways of preparing tea/tisan, such as paper bags or a colander.

Alternatives: barley or three-year-old tea (kukicha).

- EGGS: For those who eat eggs, it is extremely important to choose eggs that have the first number stamped "0" (zero) on them, as these are certified that they are free-range and healthy eating.

 Alternative: walnuts or almonds.

- LEGUME VEGETABLES: have a fundamental role in the body. They should be consumed daily in small proportions. It is ideal if they are dried, in water, overnight, and cooked slowly.

Alternative: seitan or tofu

Feeding is the process by which organisms obtain and assimilate food or nutrients for their vital functions, including growth, movement, reproduction, and maintenance of body temperature.

Eating is one of the most basic and primordial behaviors of any species. It can even be said that eating is the most intimate act of our lives, since few things fuse with us as deeply as the food we eat.

Thus, the proper functioning of the digestive system ensures the conversion of food into simple molecules that are absolved into the bloodstream, constituting and defining the quality of the blood in the first phase and, subsequently, constituting all the cells of the body, from the brain, to the muscles, to the bones, to the sense organs, to the stomach and intestines, to the blood cells themselves (erythrocytes, leukocytes, lymphocytes) and all the rest.
